Alpha Insights | Aired 2021-10-12
Jeff highlights that the S&P 500 appears to have topped on September 2nd at three degrees of trend, or more. If his analysis is correct, then a series of first and second waves are setting-up a third-of-a-third wave decline in the days immediately ahead. A sustained recovery above the September 23rd high of SPX 4466 would negate this view, and upgrade the alternate count to preferred status. Time for caution! He takes a deep dive into Financial and Energy stocks this week.

Alpha Insights - September 28, 2021
The S&P 500 appears to have topped on September 2nd at three degrees of trend, or more. If our analysis is correct, then last Monday's low was the end of intermediate wave 1 down, and the sharp rally that has followed is wave 2. So far, the countertrend rally has retraced exactly 2/3 of the decline, a very common wave relationship. If the wave 2 rally is close to termination, then intermediate wave 3 down should begin in earnest early next week and carry the index to at least SPX 4075 before the next intermediate degree countertrend move ensues. Only a new ATH in the index would negate this view.
